Fruit Dehydration Plant
For longer life of fruits and to
maintain their texture and taste their proper processing is must.
According to report millions of tonnes of fruits get wasted every year
due to the lack of proper storage. The fruits can be stored for the
longer period of time only when they are dehydrated to reduce their
moisture content. Through dehydration process, fruits like apples,
berries, mangoes, pineapples, papaya, cherries etc. can be stored for a
longer period of time without affecting their taste and texture.
Process Description
In dehydration plant fruits are dehydrated at low temperature with air
re-circulation arrangement. The sizes and capacities of different
dehydrating units vary. The dehydration time depends upon the nature of
the fruits. The dehydration unit consists of electrical heater, blowers
and trays. The blowers carrying the heat from the heater evaporates the
moisture of the fruits. Each unit also has a certain number of trays for
holding fruits. The trays are placed in columns.
