Ketchup Plants
Ketchup is a popular condiment
used along with other edibles like French fries, toasts, burgers, pizzas
etc. They are prepare out of ripened tomatoes, vinegar, sugar, salt,
etc. Tomato ketchup is prepared after long processing of tomatoes. For
preparing ketchup, ripened tomato is chosen. The tomato is dried, pulp
is removed, seed and covering is separated from the main fruit through
sieves and then juice is extracted through extractor machine. The juice
is pasteurized in a pasteurizing machine and then packed in a sterile
bottle. For crushing tomatoes, crusher of different sizes can be used.
The crushed tomatoes are boiled using kettle usually of larger size.
Boiling of tomatoes and addition of sugar concentrates the juice. The
juice is also mixed with spices like cloves, acetic acid, salt, acetic
acid etc. The concentrated ketchup is mixed with preservative like
sodium benzoate and then finally packed in the bottles to be transported
in the market.
