Meat Grinders
A meat grinder is a tool for
grinding meat. It is used for making hamburger, sausage and other
related products. Meat grinders are available in variety of sizes and
models. Meat grinders are used both in big eating joints and home for
preparing meat.
Meat grinders are either hand operated or operated mechanically. Both electric and hand cranked meat grinders work on the same principle. Meat is introduced in the machine and the grinding wheel is turned. It is the hopper through which meat is added. Hopper is situated over the sharpened turn screw which forces the meat through a series of chopper blades. The blades chop the meat and push it out of an appropriate sized screen. Manual Meat Grinders Manual meat grinders are used for processing relatively small quantities. They are clamped to a table and hand-cranked to grind small amount of meat per minute. These grinders consist of several cutting plates that rotate against a cutting knife to produce small bits of ground food. The grinders are used for grinding chicken, duck, pork, beef, vegetables, etc. The items to be grinded are fed into the funnel formed on top of the grinder body and driven by a spiral auger into the cutting blade as it feeds the materials through the cutting plates. Electric Meat Grinders Electric grinder functions like manual meat grinder. However its design is quite dissimilar to manual meat grinder. Electric grinder consists of different sized cutting plates. There is an extrusion tube for sausage. In some grinders, motor can be reversed if meat jams in the grinder. Through electric meat grinder large volume of meat is obtained without taking much effort and time. |
