Papadum Machine
Papadum is an Indian variety of
flat bread prepared by using flour of black gram, chicken pea, rice or
lentil. The flour is kneaded mixed with salts and other ingredients and
are then fried to prepare papadum. It is popular variety of snacks of
India and is taken along breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dough are
formed into a thin round shape and are seasoned with ingredients like
pepper, garlic, chillies etc. The papadum is cooked in heated oil. It
gets expanded when it is put in the heated oil.
Process The first step in making papadum is preparing of dough. The flour is converted in the dough through dough making or kneading machine. The dough maker has a blade inside it which mixes the flour well. Once the dough is ready it is cut into very thin sizes. The blade of the cutter cuts the dough in an uniform size. The cutter machines are available in two varieties- hand operated and electrically operated. The dough is feeded in chamber of the cutter which cuts the dough into papadum. The papadum so produced is then taken to dryer which has in built heating system where papadum is heated in a controlled way. The chamber of the dryer is heated uniformly so that the drying of papadum is uniform. The dried papadum is then packed through vacuum packaging machine and transported to the market. In continuous papadum processing machine, the papadum is feeded to the drier through conveyor system. After being dried they are again taken by the conveyors to the packaging machine. |
