Wheat Flour Milling Machine
Flour is a fine powder made from
cereals or other starchy food sources. Flour is mainly made from wheat,
rice, maize, corn, rye, barley, and rice. Flour is used for preparing
breads and other confectionery items. It is dietary staple of millions
of people across the world. Flour when mixed with water, led to the
development of protein called gluten which gives wheat, sticky texture
which is highly desired for breads, cakes and other baked products.
Mechanical Operations Before wheat is grinded into flour, it is cleaned by using various processing machines like destoner, grader, cleaner, gravity selector etc. Through separator wheat is made to pass through various screens whereas the large objects like sticks and rocks are removed. The lighter objects are removed by aspirators. The aspirator sucks up foreign matter which is lighter than the wheat and removes it. There is a spiral separating machine which separates oval seeds from round seeds. Other machines that purifies wheat are color sorter, scourers and scrapers. The wheat is crushed between two large metal rollers of different sizes and moving at different speeds. The spiral grooves, crack open the grains of wheat and begin to separate the interior of the wheat from the outer layer of bran. The product of the breaker rolls passes through metal sieves to separate it into three categories. The finest category so produced is the coarse flour or middling, which is further purified by middlings purifier. The middlings pass through the screen to be more finely ground. These coarse flour or middlings are grounded into flour by pairs of large, smooth metal rollers. |
